Sherri Garrity
Sherri Garrity is a communications coach and consultant and the president of Make It Count Communications. She works with corporate, nonprofit and philanthropic clients, and provides virtual training to organizations and individuals across the USA and Canada. Her Ready, Aim, Inspire! blog has readers from all over the world and has been featured in popular online publications including Donor Power, Escape from Cubicle Nation and the Carnival of Nonprofit Consultants.
Sherri created Make It Count in 2007 after 20 years spent in a variety of communications and marketing roles in the government, nonprofit, professional services and financial sectors. During that time, she has worked in the corporate world, government communications, nonprofit marketing, and as a reporter and editor. Her experience in change management, internal communications, corporate social responsibility, fundraising and public relations brings a fresh perspective and unique voice of experience to her clients.
Sherri’s most rewarding work is helping organizations achieve more by improving their communications with their staff, volunteers, donors and clients.
Her professional accomplishments include managing the internal communications for reorganizations and corporate acquisitions of international companies, community relations and international marketing of Canada’s first high level containment laboratory, dealing with media on numerous controversial issues, and developing internal and branding strategies for a national corporate citizenship program.
Today, she uses her professional background and down-to-earth writing and speaking style to develop information and training products and to work with a select group of clients.
She is the author of two popular blogs, Ready, Aim, Inspire! for nonprofit and philanthropic organizations and her personal blog, which provides advice to other “corporate fugitives”. She is also recognized as an expert status author on a variety of article banksites.
