Consulting Services
As a communications consultant, my goal is to work collaboratively with you to develop and implement a strategy that makes a difference to your organization.
I believe that more effective communications allows organizations to achieve greater results. I also believe that without a strong internal vision, one that is understood by staff, outward-focused marketing and public relations activities will ultimately either fail, or have limited results.
I work with not for profit and member-based organizations, as well as corporations and private companies. My focus is on using effective internal communications and change management techniques to help organizations take important steps – for example, policy changes, reorganizations, or introducing new campaigns or products.
I also work with not-for-profit, and private companies, interested in building internal support and external visibility for their fundraising or corporate citizenship programs.
The problems I solve for my clients include:
- Determining the best strategy and approach for communicating change to staff, volunteers, and ultimately, customers or donors
- Articulating difficult or complex concepts into easy-to-understand messages
- Identifying communication needs for the distinct audiences that affect your success or failure in meeting your goals
- Evaluating current communications systems and processes, and recommending best actions for change
My philosophy is to give you advice and tools you can implement and use. When you choose Make It Count, you will develop a relationship and work closely with me from the beginning to the end of your project. I choose to work with a small number of clients in order to be able to work more closely with them. I will get to know your organization and your needs, and you will get the tailored, professional advice that fits your organization.
Want to try before you commit?
If you are early on in your project, or not sure about bringing in a consultant, you may want to try my $60-for-60 minutes mini-consultation. Although I will not be able to offer you in-depth advice, without knowing more about your organization, I can help you determine which steps need to be taken and help better define the communications priorities. At a rate that is much lower than my usual hourly fee, you will get immediate value and a sense of working with me. I will get to meet you, get a feel for your organization, and do what I love best – help solve problems. So it’s a win-win for both of us.
